Google announced today that traffic notifications will be automatically added to Google Now (the intelligent personal assistant on the Google Mobile app). This feature will be a part of the new update for the Android Google app.
If you’re like me, you absolutely try to avoid traffic like the plague, constantly checking the Google Maps current traffic feature to see which highways are clogged and how to plan your commute among the sea of red. But with this new update, Google will automatically notify you of traffic situations that it anticipates you are heading towards, giving you more time to take an earlier exit and zoom around the traffic on the side roads.
This recent development by Google is yet another illustration of just how powerful mobile is in our day and age. Brands now have the opportunity to reach people immediately with pertinent messages as they are going about their days, whether that be shopping, going out to eat, or commuting to work.
