We all know the old adage, “persistence pays off.” It’s annoying, but more true than ever when it comes to blogging.
Now, you shouldn’t be blogging just to blog. You have to have a goal, audience and strategy in mind. You can’t just drink the Kool-aid, you have to believe in the Kool-aid. Know what I mean? While optimizing for SEO is important and all, ultimately you have to be providing valuable content for your audience. Google may reward you at first, but getting those visitors to turn into customers relies on the resources you are providing.
Consistency is another key factor. There has to be some method to the madness. Blog/write daily, every other day, only Tuesdays/Fridays….whatever. If you hold yourself accountable to the amount of days you know you can commit to, then you can (and will!) follow through with it.

It becomes easy to doubt the value of blogging when you’re not seeing results quickly. In fact, very few have the patience and foresight required to persevere those lean days often associated with launching a blog.
However, much like a solid workout plan, persistence — and most importantly, discipline — almost always pays off. Still, wouldn’t we all appreciate an accurate forecast as to when we can expect results from our blogging efforts?
